Work seamlessly between LinkedIn and Recruit

Updated over a week ago

Role: All teammates

The RSC integration between LinkedIn and Recruit helps recruiters:

  • See current and past recruiting activity from Recruit on the candidates' profiles in LinkedIn Recruiter.

  • Create or update Recruit candidate records with LinkedIn data.

  • View LinkedIn Recruiter InMail history and notes directly from within Recruit.

  • Access and view up-to-date candidate LinkedIn profiles in Recruit without changing context.

šŸ“ Note: Only candidates who were exported manually from LinkedIn or applied using the Apply with LinkedIn button are updated in Recruit.

Before getting started

Manage candidateā€™s LinkedIn information in Recruitt

After connecting your personal LinkedIn Recruiter account, you can efficiently manage candidates' LinkedIn data by manually exporting candidates' data from LinkedIn to Recruit.

  1. Find the relevant candidate on LinkedIn Recruiter.

  2. Click the ellipsis (three dots) icon on their profile and select Export to ATS. This will open the Export to your ATS window.

  3. Select the ATS and start typing the Public Job Name to find and select the relevant position in Recruit.

    • You can only select positions you have permission to view in Recruit. Any changes to user permissions may take a few minutes to be synced with LinkedIn.

    • The Workplace type dropdown is currently not supported.

  4. Click Export.

Once exported, the candidate will be created in Recruit for the selected position. If the integration is set up to sync InMail and notes, these data will also appear on the candidateā€™s profile.

šŸ“š For more info, see the LinkedIn documentation.

Information exported to Recruit

When a candidate is exported to Recruit, the data is handled as follows:

Candidate details

The candidateā€™s name and LinkedIn profile URL are exported. Contact details (email and phone) are not shared by LinkedIn during the export.

Candidate source

Recruit will check if thereā€™s an existing source contact with the email address (Recruitā€™s, not LinkedInā€™s) of the person who sourced the candidate. If a matching source contact is found, Recruit associates the new candidate with this source contact.

  • If this source contact is linked to an existing source, the candidate is connected to that source.

  • If the source contact isn't linked to any source, Recruit creates a new source based on the provided details.

If no source contact exists, Recruit creates a new source contact using the recruiterā€™s first name, last name, and Recruit email address.

  • If a user with this email already exists in Recruit, the new source contact is linked to that user.

Recruit then creates a new source and names it ā€œ[user name] (LinkedIn Recruiter)ā€ (e.g., ā€œJohn Smith (LinkedIn Recruiter)ā€), setting the source type to ā€œActive search.ā€

Tags

Exported candidates are automatically tagged with Imported: LinkedIn Recruiter. This tag can then be used to search for candidates imported from LinkedIn.

Positions

If a candidate applies to multiple positions, Recruit will create a separate hiring process for each position.

šŸ“ Note: The PDF version of the resume is not exported from LinkedIn to Recruit due to data-sharing restrictions. However, you can view the candidates' updated LinkedIn profiles directly in Recruit by selecting the LinkedIn tab on their profile.

Duplicates

When you export a candidate from LinkedIn who has already been exported or when a candidate applies using Apply with LinkedIn more than once, Recruit handles duplicates as follows:

  • A new hiring process is created in Recruit for the existing candidate.

    • If the candidate is already under consideration for that position, the export action will fail, and Recruit wonā€™t create a new hiring process. This happens because a candidate cannot be considered for the same position in more than one hiring process.

  • A Possible duplicate alert is displayed when there are existing candidates in Recruit with similar (but not identical) details. This may happen when the same candidate already exists in Recruit but was not exported from LinkedIn or applied using Apply with LinkedIn. Learn more about resolving possible duplicates.

Recruitt activity on LinkedIn

Teammates with access to LinkedIn Recruiter can view candidatesā€™ hiring processes directly on LinkedIn. Youā€™ll only see the processes you have permission to access in Recruit.

To see a candidate's hiring process, click the ATS indicator on their LinkedIn profile. You will be able to see:

  • A summary of the candidate's hiring statuses.

  • The position name theyā€™re applying to.

  • The candidateā€™s current step in the hiring process.

  • All steps completed in each hiring process.

LinkedIn profiles in Recruit

When a candidate chooses to share their contact information with the recruiter, their profile in Recruit is automatically updated:

  • LinkedIn profile URL

  • Email

  • Phone
