Integration with UKG Pro

Automatically create a new employee in UKG Pro when you hire a candidate

Updated this week

Plan: All plans

Role: Owner Admin IT manager

UKG Pro is a cloud-based HRIS that helps organizations manage the entire employee lifecycle. With Recruit’s integration, you can automatically create a new employee record in UKG Pro when a candidate is marked as Hired in Recruit.

Before getting started

  • You need an Owner, Admin, or IT Admin role in Recruit.

  • You need a service account or web services user with permissions to create employee records in UKG Pro.

  • You need UKG Pro API credentials (e.g., customer API key, tenant URL)

Limitations

  • Required fields in UKG Pro may not be flagged in Recruit.

  • Attachments such as resumes or additional files are not currently supported.

Configure the integration

  1. In Recruit, click your avatar at the top right and go to Settings > Process > Integrations.

  2. Scroll to the Talent Management section, find UKG Pro, and click Integrate.

  3. Decide whether you want to allow teammates to skip creating a new employee profile when hiring an existing employee by checking the box.

  4. Click Activate.

  5. Follow the instructions to complete activation.

Working with UKG Pro

When you set a candidate’s status to Hired, you’ll see a New Hire form. This form displays all the available employee fields from UKG Pro. Fill in the required fields and confirm. Recruit will send the data to UKG Pro to create the new employee record.

New employee profiles are created with the following details:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email

  • Start date

  • Job title

  • Department

  • Business unit

  • Location

  • Other HRIS-specific fields

📝 Note: Due to API limitations, required fields are not always marked as required in Recruit. If a required field is missing, UKG will return an error message showing what needs to be added.
